January 2016-January 2020
Assistant Designer - New York, NY: Since starting work with FEIT, I have collaborated with Tull Price, founder and head designer, to conceptualize, design, source, and develop the company’s complete product range. I have also had a large role in branding, creative direction, photography, marketing, and merchandising. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with really cool companies like BDDW and Toogood. I have also been given the opportunity to travel to footwear and bag factories as well as material shows for product development. Working at a small company like FEIT has allowed me to have a major influence on how the company operates and what it’s goals are going forward even as a young designer.
Footwear Design Intern - Beaverton, OR: My high school dream job. I designed footwear for Nike Sportswear with the Special Projects, Innovation, Elements, Running, and Global Football divisions. I learned how to sample a shoe with my own two hands and helped out on a number of products now out on the market.
Freelance Footwear Designer - Los Angeles, CA: I worked designing lifestyle-influenced performance footwear as well as various logos, colorways, and renders for the then young brand.
Footwear Design Intern - Manhattan Beach, CA: My first foray into footwear; I learned the process of designing a shoe from conceptualization to production. I designed a performance golf shoe, the tooling for a work shoe, and multiple colorways that released worldwide.
Design Intern - Chicago, IL: I designed leather accessories for companies such as Levi’s, Zara, Columbia, Dickies, Target, Gap, and Banana Republic and worked on a lot of trend research and analysis.
WALTER P. SAUER
Design Intern - Brooklyn, NY: I worked in the fabrication and assembly of high end residential furniture.
